IIDA Virginia/West Virginia is compiled of designers, architects, students, educators, and industry partners who share a common goal of elevating the profession of interior design. We support this mission through meaningful networking opportunities, advocacy efforts, continuing education, and volunteer engagement across the region. The chapter is committed to offering relevant programming, project tours, and events that inspire, connect, and inform our members. We also celebrate the achievements of our community through member spotlights, awards, and appreciation initiatives.

Who Can Become A Member?

Professional Interior Designer

You are an interior designer and have passed the NCIDQ exam

Professional Architect

You are an architect actively engaged in the interior design profession

Associate Member

You are an interior designer with a minimum of two years of formal interior design education, and are not NCIDQ-certified

Educator Member

You are a full-time instructor, department chair, or adjunct professor in a post-secondary program of interior design at any university or accredited school of interior design

Student Member

You are a student enrolled in an interior design program

Industry Member

You work within the industry, but are not a designer

Mentorship Program

The IIDA Student Mentoring Program connects students with industry professionals for a real-world glimpse into the interior design field. Through a day of shadowing, students gain valuable insight and guidance, while professionals have the opportunity to give back, inspire emerging designers, and build meaningful connections for the future.

Showcase Your Work

As an IIDA student member, you’ll have access to opportunities that support your growth and recognition in the industry. Participate in design competitions, apply for IIDA Foundation scholarships, and explore leadership roles on campus and within the chapter. You can also submit your work for awards like the Student Project Award at IDEA and stay informed through industry publications and events.

Internship Job Board

The IIDA Internship Job Board connects interior design students with internship opportunities at design firms, manufacturers, dealerships, and other industry partners. It helps students gain hands-on experience, build professional connections, and take the next step toward a career in the interior design industry.

The President‐Elect shall oversee the Finances of the Chapter & work closely with the President to stay within the current budget. With cause the President‐elect may perform a periodic independent audit of the Chapter’s financial affairs President Elect shall perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the President. The duties shall include recommendation and supervision of appropriate committees to formulate programs and recommend policies relating to those issues.

1. Fundraiser (I Love My Industry Gala) (Co-Chair)

The Director of Student Outreach is responsible for coordinating student campus center events and activities. These duties include organizing and promoting student benefit programs such as mentoring, guest lectures, and workshops. They shall act as a liaison between campus centers and the Virginia/West Virginia Board Members. The Director of Student Outreach shall be responsible for communicating student activities to the Board and membership‐at‐large.
