Job Listing: Interior Designer I | KSA Interiors | Glen Allen, VA

KSA Interiors is seeking an Interior Designer I to join our design team in Glen Allen, VA. This person must be a professional who takes pride in their work, can work independently as well as within teams, has the ability to prioritize tasks, and is flexible, a self-starter, and places customer service at the core of their work ethic.

SUMMARY
The Interior Designer I is responsible for the daily design document preparation of corporate, retail, municipal, institutional, and various other interior design projects. Secondary responsibilities include file management of project related drawings and assisting with the interior design process. Primary skills include extensive knowledge of AutoCAD (2014 or newer) and the ability to read and understand construction plans, proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010, and exposure to visualization software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design) and SketchUp.

ACCOUNTABILITY
The Interior Designer I is expected to operate as part of a team. They are directly accountable to a Project Manager and ultimately accountable to the Project Executive. The Project Manager and Project Executive may (or is expected to) vary by project. The Interior Designer I is required to maintain strong team relationships by working closely with each Project Manager during the design document preparation phase of the project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
Participate in all phases of the project including:
• Programming
• Schematic Design
• Design Development
• Construction Documents
• Specifications
• Bid Process
• Procurement
• Installation
• Post Occupancy
• Assist with the design of the project
• Coordinate technology for the project
• Develop concurrent projects in various phases of documentation
• Plots drawings to scale on a plotter or laser printer.
• Conduct field verifications and preparation of as-built drawings
• Revise drawings based on instructions from designers and project managers.
• Ensure compliance of drafting and architectural standards.
