Job Listing: Design Assistant – New Day Office, Suffolk, VA
New Day Office is a commercial furniture dealership that serves all of Hampton Roads. We are a high energy, busy workplace with an immediate, full-time opportunity for a Design Assistant within our interior design department.
This role requires you to work effectively with the project team (sales, project managers and installers) to product plans and specifications and meet our clients’ requirements. Collaboration with the team is key to determine individual requirements of each project. You will be responsible for specifying corporate systems and ancillary furniture. This technical information must be provided to team members in an organized and accurate manner within the provided deadline. This is done by producing furniture specifications, quotes, plans and renderings.
AutoCAD experience and ability to read plans is desired. Commercial furniture background is preferred, but not required. Good communication skills, attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks is essential. Training is provided for furniture drafting program that is used within the dealership. Additionally, training will be provided on the furniture/products and specification process.
