4:00pm – The Mind and Individual Work: Designing for States of Mind that Enhance Individual Work CEU; presented by Herman Miller

  • As workplace design increasingly focuses on collaboration and community, accommodations for individual work can often be overlooked. The best office design, however, is balanced, supporting work people do together and alone.
  • Drawing on research conducted by Herman Miller, this course identifies the five most common states of mind people seek to cultivate when they need to do work on their own, outlines people’s needs for each state of mind, and suggests ways that design can fulfill those needs to help people achieve their desired state of mind.
    • 1 IDCEC Credit

5:00pm – The Jetsons CEU; presented by Teknion

  • In a future with technology that allows nearly everyone to work from anywhere, do you think people will still travel into offices to work? In this highly interactive facilitated workshop, you will explore and decide for yourself why or why not workers will work together in physical offices. You may be able to work anywhere, but you will need to work somewhere. Where should that BEST somewhere be?
